During the winter I love to find ways to heat up. I take hot showers, wear warm and comfy clothes, and drink plenty of hot Starbucks coffee. But earlier this month while I was gathering new masks to try, I came across this self-heating mask for around 5 dollars. I figured it was worth a try.
The first time I tried it, I was pretty impressed. The mask was creamy and smooth. It applied evenly and rinsed off effortlessly. My skin felt cool and refreshed. I was really impressed by its ability to heat up and relax all my face muscles.
Every now and then, my face breaks out with a few blemishes. With this mask, they tend to go away 12-24 hours. I have decided to do a little research on the ingredients and figure out what is in this cleanser that makes it work.
So, here are 7 ingredients that made this purchase worth it.
Zeolite is a naturally occurring mineral formed from the interaction of volcanic ash and sea water. It is know for its topical benefits similar to charcoal. It draws out impurities while releasing purifying minerals into your skin leaving you feeling rejuvenated.
Kaolin is a product of the breakdown of various minerals over a period of time. It has been used in Chinese culture for centuries for its purifying nature. It clears the skin and pores of dirt, oil and pollutants. Different beauty companies use kaolin in beauty masks for its ability to hold other ingredients together on the face.
This ingredient is a born humectant. It preserves moisture on the skin and helps prevent dehydration. It is a natural acne-prevention method. Peg-8 is regularly placed in lotions and moisturizers for its hydrating components.
4. Methyl Gluceth-20
Derived from corn sugar and corn starch, this addition is why this cleanser leaves your skin feeling silky and smooth. This ingredient is a natural emollient that opens the pores so that the cleansing properties of its fellow ingredients can do their job more effectively.
Talc or talcum powder is one of the main ingredients of baby powder. This mineral acts as a natural lubricant on the skin, again, making it soft to the touch. Its application also reduces the possibility of skin sensitivity.
6. Methyl Methacrylate Cross polymer
That mouthful that I don’t have any idea how to pronounce is a fancy way of saying it is really good at absorbing excess sebum and oils off the skin. The more ingredients that cleanse and purify, the better.
7. Activated Charcoal
Charcoal is widely know for its many beneficial properties. It alleviates acne, rashes, insect bites, and snake bites. For this mask, it absorbs impurities and traps them. This ingredient can heal acne as well as prevent future breakouts.
So, for only 5 bucks this four-count facial cleanser is a great deal and does a lot of good for the face. Using it 2-3 times a week has dramatically reduced both mine and my husband’s acne and reduced breakout duration. I give it a solid 10/10 for for comfort, quality, and cost.
