6 Budget Friendly Cosmetic Products Worth the Buy

We compiled a short list of cost-efficient buys that won’t break the bank, from brands that take their reputation seriously.

From blushes to brow liners, its no secret that building an arsenal of beauty products is no easy task. difficulties in choosing the right setting spray to avoid creasing throughout the day and finding lipstick that won’t fade like your determination to go on that morning run did, are just the tip of the ice berg.

Now tie that into the choice between saving your money to buy name brand products or risk wasting your hard earned cash on cheaper products that aren’t even worth a nickel.

You’ve found yourself between a rock and a hard space.

While we adore products from Tart, Too Faced, and Kat Von D, not everyone has the budget to buy. Even so, nobody has the cash lying around to waste on products that don’t deliver on their promises.

To face this problem head on, we consulted with the gurus of frugality and quality and compiled a short list of cost-efficient buys that won’t break the bank, from brands that take their reputation seriously.

In this post, we will run down a list of some of our favorite products and their counterpart. Lets dive in!

1. Foundation

Just as an artist wouldn’t use printer copy paper to paint his masterpiece, you shouldn’t use any run-of-the-mill foundation formula as the canvas to your look. Foundation has the ability to make or break your look, so remember that as you purchase expensive highlighters and contour kits. Foundation is one of the three key elements in our base trifecta. It pays to be picky.

One of our favorite foundation formulas is from Becca Cosmetics. It offers light to medium coverage and works best for medium to dry skin types. When applied, it leaves a luminous glow that will last you through the day.

Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation  $44.00 plus tax.

2. Concealer

If anything is good at cover ups its the government and a quality concealer. Dark circles and discoloration are the bane of all looks. Build your base with confidence, and allow your beauty to stand out.

Put your trust in Make Up Forever’s full coverage concealer and Maybelline’s Master Conceal. These cream concealers can knockout any unwanted blemish while being gentle enough to maintain a natural no makeup look if desired.

3. Setting the Concealer, and adding dimension

Use a powder slightly lighter than your skin tone, a yellow powder, or a translucent setting powder over concealer to prevent it from settling into your fine lines causing the ever feared “creasing” effect. You can find perfect shades for this as well as shades to add depth to your look by sculpting and accentuating your cheek and jawline in a contour kit. We love Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour kit and NYX Cosmetics Highlight and Contour Pro Palette.

4. Blush

Blush is an essential blending tool. It allows your contour and highlight to form a seamless union, as if fate, or a quality dating app, brought them together.

Being picky when choosing blush is a must. We love Benefit Cosmetic’s Cheekathon Blush and Bronzer Palette and NYX Chaffon Baked Blush.

5. Lipstick

They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend. We respectfully disagree. In our universe, lipstick is a girl’s best friend. Whether you’re in the mood for a bold lip or an everyday neutral, this simple piece defines your look.

The Mona Lisa’s gentle smile is said to be the link between harmony and nature in their cosmic coexistence. Da Vinci took pride in the shape and structure of lips and knew their importance-We hold them to the same reverence. When choosing a lipstick, we try to remember that.

With that in mind, we looked to Urban Decay and NYX. With these hot summer months we prefer dewy looks and these companies deliver.
